Bourne Water Dragons gave a valiant performance at the Sherborne Castle Country Fair Dragon Boat Race.

Bourne Water Dragons gave a valiant performance in our class.

24 teams entered the event, all giving their very best.  The conditions were windy with sun and scattered showers; nevertheless, chins were up, morale was high, and everyone had a good time. Rosemary was our steadfast drummer, keeping the beat with Tim, our lead stroke and welcome guest.

Our crew and results stayed consistent:

1st race - 01.37.27
2nd race - 01.37.61
3rd race - 01.38.00

The team excelled and gave their very best, no one could have asked for more.

A big thank you to Jane, who made a huge effort to make this event a dynamic success. Also, organising the gazebo, a much-appreciated shelter from the downpours. A big thank you to all the bakers who brought homemade goodies.

Big thanks to Tim, an experienced dragon boater, who stepped in at the last moment to help his Mum’s crew.
