It was a beautiful start to the day ~ the sun was shining and we could feel the temperature was gently rising. With a gentle breeze the annual Mudeford RNLI fun day had arrived. Bourne Water Dragons had a team of willing volunteers, to help set up camp on Pitch 20 at Mudeford Quay. It was bustling with stalls and fairground rides. Our view over the harbour was stunning and the water soon became filled with happy water enthusiasts.

We 'christened' the brand new 'sign written' gazebo on it's first event. The signage was bright and you really couldn’t miss us. We made ourselves known to the local community/ holidaymakers, and interest in what we were doing was very evident as people talked at length asking many questions. The volunteers seemed naturally enthusiastic, chatting away and handing out dragon stickers to the children. It was interesting that several holidaymakers had seen Dragon Boating in their hometowns.

The event was very busy and it was a very warm day. Everyone was in a happy place including our wonderful volunteers who seemed to really enjoy promoting BWD whilst feeling proud of the team's success.

The event ended on a high note, as our new gazebo was packed away, until the next time.

If you are interested in joining us, please give us a call!
