BWD was lucky enough to be chosen with two other charities to be a recipient of a donation from the inaugural River Pageant Fundraising Event.

All the details of the wonderful day we had can be seen in a previous post.

With the very generous support of the local Rotary Clubs of Southbourne, Christchurch and Boscombe, local businesses, and community and public donations, the grand total of £2,835 was raised.

A cheque to the value of £945 was presented to each charity: Hengistbury Head Outdoor Centre, Pink Champagne and, of course, ourselves—Bourne Water Dragons. Many thanks go to the Christchurch Sailing Club for hosting the event and extra big thanks to Gerry Clarke for taking the initiative and organising the event with his team of helpers.

Amongst the attendees were Rotary President Jan Banks from Christchurch, Chris Bezall from Boscombe and Southbourne, and Rotary District Governor Richard Burnett. We really had Rotary Royalty out that day! Thank you for making it so special.

Gerry Clarke thanked everyone for their support and hoped that the 2026 event would be even more successful.
